AMGA Supports National Diabetes Goal
May 16th, 2008 | by admin |The American Medical Group Association announced its support of the National Diabetes Goal that by 2015, 45 percent of Americans will know their blood glucose level and what actions to take. AMGA joined more than 20 national organizations as an inaugural supporter of this goal, which was unveiled today at the Newseum in Washington, D.C., at the event “Changing Diabetes in America: Transforming Awareness into Action,” hosted by Novo Nordisk.
“AMGA is dedicated to enhancing the ability of its members to provide the highest quality of care to their patients, including those with chronic conditions such as diabetes,” said Julie Sanderson-Austin, R.N., vice president, quality management and research, at AMGA. “We support the National Diabetes Goal and agree that identifying individuals at risk, providing them with information about their glucose levels, and arming them with tools to help manage the progression of diabetes are imperatives for our health system.”
Joining AMGA in voicing their support were other esteemed healthcare and other national organizations, including:

American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists
American Association of Diabetes Educators
American Academy of Physician Assistants
American College of Physicians
American Diabetes Association
American Optometric Association
Campaign to End Obesity
